Building a Men’s Group

As mentioned in our previous e-mail we have been working hard to identify a program that would help create a dynamic environment for men to grow in their faith. The program that we have chosen is That Man Is You (TMIY). Starting this fall this program will be run at the locations mentioned below. Sacrament of Mercy Conference

• October 8 Friday from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm Eucharistic Marian Vigil Prayer Service with national speaker and writer Fr. Alfred McBride. Fr. Don Hying, rector of the Milwaukee Seminary will be the representative of Archbishop Jerome Listecki, and will preside at this service. 

• October 9 Saturday All day conference 9:15 am through 4:30 pm Closing Mass with an assortment of powerful national speakers: Bishop Robert Finn of Kansas City-St. Joseph who will speak and preside at the Closing 4:30 pm Holy Mass: Fr. Matthew Mauriello from CT (President of the North American Congress on Mercy), Fr. Andrew Apostoli from NY, Dr. Bryan Thatcher from FL, Fr. Clement Machado from Italy, Fr. Paul Keller from Ohio.

• Only $35 person which includes hot lunch; (price increases to $40 after Sept 8)

Women's Support Center's Inaugural Banquet to Celebrate Life

• What: The Women's Support Center of Milwaukee (a crisis pregnancy center) is having their fall banquet on Sept. 19th. Banquet attendance is complimentary, as the banquet will be underwritten by supporters and table sponsors. The Women's Support Center (WSC) primarily provides counseling to women experiencing a crisis pregnancy, but their support goes way beyond life counseling. While the WSC is over 90% successful in counseling against abortion, an important aspect of what they do is to offer women the charitable support - and breathing space - that is necessary for them to find peace and joy in their motherhood.

That Man is You! Followup

Many of you have been working to continue beyond the conference, and help foster a dynamic men’s group in your faith community by working to implement the “That Man Is You!” Men’s Leadership Program this coming fall.   Your efforts will continue to help “Build a Band of Brothers” along with a “Bridge to Bring Men Home.”  Thank you for your commitment! 

Hopefully you are close to having your Corp Team in place, and are continuing to work through the Anticipation Phase of the Program.   The next steps are to implement the Attraction and Promotional Phases by the end of August.    Therefore, we are going to bring everyone back together as we continue to work through these next phases of the program.  The second conference will be on Saturday, July 24th at St. Leonard ’s in Muskego .  Check in as at 7:30 a.m. with mass beginning at 8:00 a.m., followed with a light breakfast then moving into the program and finishing with lunch.   We would encourage you to have the members of your Corp Team register for this event.  Space is limited so please register early.  To register for this event please follow the instructions here: Register Online.

That Man is You! Overview

We have some exciting news. Our leadership team has been working hard to identify a program that would help create a dynamic environment where men can come together on a regular basis to celebrate the sacraments, learn their faith, pray, challenge each other, as well as build strong friendships. Well... we have found the program, and it is called That Man Is You (TMIY).

To introduce TMIY to those interested in starting, participating, leading or just plain curious about creating a powerful environment for men at their parish, we are hosting a half day review session on Saturday, June 26th at St. Leonard’s in Muskego. The day will start with mass at 8:00 a.m., and conclude before noon with lunch (and breakfast) included. Remember…at Pentecost the Holy Spirit descended upon the Apostles and Disciples of Christ, and gave them the ability to engage their culture and world with the Gospel. They did this with no fear and used their God-given gifts and Christ’s message to bring Faith, Hope, and Charity to a broken world.  Two thousand years later the need is just as great. Christ is sending His Holy Spirit upon us to bring hope to our community. Join us on Saturday, June 26th as we start that building process.

Finally, continue to pray for the success of our efforts as we move forward to bring men of our communities into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and His Holy Catholic Church.
