2013 Conference Followup

Jesus Christ answered our prayers (and fasting), and gave us a tremendous blessing on Saturday, March 9, 2013.  You witnessed and experienced a powerful sign of solidarity among Catholic men. Something we have not seen in a long time. 
 
We collectively honored our God, repented from our sins, witnessed to our boys, prayed for our families, interceded for our church/country, and took our Lord into the streets of Milwaukee, as a sign of taking the light of Christ into the world.  We stood “firm in our faith” and were all strengthened by God’s grace. Thank you all for being a part of something very special.

Dynamic Men’s Group Training
We understand how important it is for men to come together on a regular basis, specifically to keep the flame going after experiencing such a powerful day.  So, join us for two mini conferences on building a dynamic men’s group.   These review sessions are for all men who want to start or join a men's group at your parish or in your local area.

Father Daughter Date Night – Friday, April 19th
Holy Apostles’ Holy Name Society & Men of Christ invite you and your daughters to a Date Night on Friday, April 19, 2013 at the New Berlin Entertainment Center.   All fathers and their daughters (8 -18) are invited to a fun-filled date including a buffet dinner, games, and a Catholic speaker. Men of Christ Volunteer Day – Saturday, April 27th
Please join us again this year to do our annual clean up at the Carmelite Monastery in Pewaukee. This year’s projects are very similar to last years in general property clean up, garden sprucing along with the famous pond draining and cleaning.

... given to a people that will produce its fruit

Therefore, I say to you, the Kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people that will produce its fruit.”  Mat 21:43

In today’s Gospel from St. Matthew, Jesus tells the parable of the landowner who planted a vineyard and entrusted it to tenants.  When vintage time drew near, the landowner sent servants and later his own son to obtain his produce.  The servants as well as his son were beaten, killed, and stoned by the tenants.  Today, we use the word “stewards” rather than “tenants” to describe the Father’s call to us to work in the “vineyard” using the gifts He has bestowed on each of us in hope that we will produce fruit.  If we do not produce fruit, the Kingdom of God will be taken away from us.  Our eternal life with God in heaven is at stake!

Producing good fruit means knowing our faith, practicing our faith, sharing our faith with others, and, in the process, changing the world or, in other words, bringing the Kingdom of God to the here and now of this world.  Without exception, this is a tall order for all of us!  However, the need is never greater as we see secularism driving us, our families, our children, and our friends away from God.

There is no better time to commit to the training and grace that we need to be good stewards of the vineyard.  The 2013 Men of Christ Conference will ignite our hearts and minds to enter into a fuller communion with Christ Jesus and His Church so that we become more faithful stewards.  With dynamic speakers, opportunity for Reconciliation, Holy Mass, Eucharistic adoration and procession, an exhibit of Eucharistic Miracles, numerous ministry tables, and much, much more, the day is guaranteed to inspire you and nourish you with the training and grace to be better men, husbands, and fathers.  Here is a sampling of what other men said about their experience at the 2012 conference!

There still is time for you to register for the conference!  Bring your sons!  They need to see your faith in action.  Finally, it is never too late to invite your extended family and friends!
